Who in the right mind would base their decision of the replies from a forum anyway. People come to the forum to get the thoughts from others but would have to go with whatever a legal counsel says to be sure.
And remember, not many legal professionals know what they are talking about either.

I am in the same boat. Is there anyway of figuring out whether USCIS Vermont recevied and Fwd to TSC / NSC?
What is your back up plan
VSC received the application based on the tracking info from UPS.
Whether they forwarded it to NSC or TSC- I don't know yet.
based on the question 6 in link below from USCIS, i think they will
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/EBFAQ1.pdf
BUT when I don't know! what will be the receipt date? Not sure!
No back up plan! I think we should be ok but don't know for sure. Filed on my own so no attorney to go to.

Dear Friends - I have a question and would appreciate your thoughts.
My father visited us for 6 months and I have a copy of his visa and passport notarized. What are the rest of the formalities (W7 form et al) that I should complete so I get some exemption? Or have my assumptions been wrong?
Yes, you can file him as dependent & you do not need his SSN. You have everything (notarized passport etc.), you have to file for ITIN number with IRS. I know lot of my friends did it (not of their own but they went through tax attorney)

I found one group -
EmployementLawGroup.net
And they are asking me
- $195 for a 30 minute phone consultation
- $395 for a 60 minute phone or in-office consultation
I don't know how much they are going ask to answer to my summons along with filing a new case .Tomorrow I'm going to send documents and then I'm going to have appointment with them.
For the time being I'm going ahead with them - If you guys know please advise me.
( I'm really not earned/earning much )

please continue to send mails to your local lawmakers regarding Skil Bill. Use the webfax too at
http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_iv_webfax&task=getContactDetails&Itemid=46
There are orgnizations that are opposed to this bill and are stronger than us. Only consistant efforts to make our voices heard would produce favorable results. We need letters comming from all members to these lawmakers so that when we lobby, these lawmakers already know that there are a lot of people who want this done and there is a broad support for such reforms.
FYI Numbersusa have been sending messages against this bill--
http://www.numbersusa.com/faxcenter?action=preview&ID=5665
--
Please do write your own mail to your local senator and congressman to communicate the problems faced by us.
The useful information is available here--

Same situation...applied for extension...got approval but the new I-94 date is not when my Old I-94 (expiring in june 2009 due to passport expiry I have a visa till October 2009) is expiring but I got the dates according to my Old I-797 expiry(October 2009). All my H1B extension forms says that I need an approval from June but they gave me from October. What should I do ? My attorney said that its USCIS mistake so you should not worry about it and that are trying to correct it. Can some one please tell me how to approach this and how long it will take before I can get a correct approval. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Friends, I Received the magic email today!
Yes - I cant believe my eyes, my I-485 has been approved today and card production ordered.
I do have a question: I could not file for my wife's i-485 in July/2007. So, we filed for my wife's application on Aug/01/2008 (Did a overnight express mail on July-31st) as my PD is current as of Aug-1st. So far her application check has not been deposited.
What will happen now? Is she out of status? I am getting really concerned. Gurus help me out?
Thanks in advance.
A green dot guaranteed for the response :)
Some details:
Ceter: TSC
I-485 Receipt Date: July/2/2007
I-140 Approval Date: July/3/2006
PD: 02/02/2006
Enjoy freedom. Your wife should be fine as her AOS petition reached uscis before your approval. I won't be surprised if you get another surprise soon !

I have seen people get a copy of their approved I-140 using FOIA Freedom of Information Act Request, where the employer was giving them a hard time and not sharing their I-140 info. So there are ways you can get a copy of the approved I-140 provided of course everything is in order. (previous poster has also posted information of getting duplicate I-140)
This is kind of similar - you should contact a good lawyer and try and get that I-140 copy
if you current lawyer is unhelpful just get advice and help from some other immigration lawyer - you are in the home stretch dont give up - try and provide USCIS whatever they want. (though technically they should have information about the approved I-140 - so I dont get why they are requesting a original copy from you!)
Also you mention
"In late 2008, with the help of a congressman, my new attorney was able to figure out that USCIS has lost my original I-140 application (filed at Nebraska center) and USCIS has issued the same I-140 receipt no. to somebody else. Then USCIS auto-created a new I-140 and gave me SRC receipt no. with filing date as Jan 2008 and as electronically filed by my previous attorney."
Do you have any documentation abou this ? a letter from Congressman etc? This is really weird never heard anything like this before.
You should collect all such documents (contact the congressman again if need be to get a letter or something in writing) then contact
a good immigration lawyer.
Good luck!

I got my GC on 09/18/07. Now my consulting company (how sponsored my GC) is having issues with the client and client is thinking to terminate the contract.
Client want to bring me to there pay roll. In other words they are offering my permanent position.
My consulting company does not have immediate opening for me.
It is not even a month that I got my GC. And I am with the same consulting company for about 6.5 years now.
Please help me. What should I do? If I accept the offer will I get problem at citizenship stage? If I do not accept offer I will loose job and I don't know how much time I have to wait till my consulting company find job for me.
Accept the offer like I am planning to do. Job is most important.

I see nothing wrong with this topic at this website. We had a lot of pressure on GC. The bad economy just made our life worse. We need some high spirit.
And the title clearly indicates that it is not about any specific immigration issue. People don't have to click when not interested.

I am also in same situation. My lawyer told me that he will file our application seperately without including each other as dependant. This doessn't make sense..... any input from others?
unless your PDs are very close to each other dont file independent. One will get GC first, other will be stuck for a while (unless you take the risk of withdrawing one ap and filing again when one person looks cloes to getting apprvoed)

Chalk this up to user error. Not sure exactly wat I did but I reset the camera and now it is working like I would expect. Like I said...I was new to SLR :D
Thqnks for the reply...whats interesting is today I called 2 different camera places by me and pretended I was interested in the same kit I have and BOTH told me that the 70s camera body supports the sigma lens' I have - In fact they were putting together a package that included the very seme lens'
Im new to digital SLR's ...but I would think based on this info I have a bad camera body
