Yes, I used nycgal's and made little modification to the intro part. Picked up the IV intro from our home page. Also emphasized on the skilled-immigrants rather than just legal immigrants. Still need to send it to Mr.Sturgeon.

Are they not supposed to make sure that they have enough senators on their side to pass this bill. Whatever we have won till this point is due to the efforts of core team and people who come to this website using media/campaigns. I have not seen results of any lobbying efforts by this lobbying firm. Am I wrong somewhere ?

We have tried very hard to separate ourselves and not be a hostage of other issues. Now there is more awareness on the greencard issue being separate from H1B. There is also more awareness that Immigration problem is not just about Illegals. There are legal immigrants too in this country suffering.

Most people already realize there is opposition of republicans to illegal immigration, we saw the implosion of CIR on the senate floor this summer. The debate over immigration is a highly emotive one for the American public, the last thing they need is an influential newspaper such as yours associating these issues at a time when CIR is dormant. This is the type of reporting that can misguide the public.
Please correct this erroneous association which I suspect was an unintentional oversight given the impeccable journalistic reputation of your newspaper.

Oregon DMV is little lenient on this matter, but they see only the expiry date on Passport visa stamp. Oregon will issue license till one year after expiry date on the Visa stamped on passport in conjunction with the H1 extension approval notice. So all these original H1 extension approval will not be considered if passport visa stamp expired more than a year. We have to go to Vancouver, B.C to get visa stamped and come back.
California accepts the I-94 extensions in the H1 extension approval notices (That's 3 years back, but they keep on changing rules every month and the California DMV services are not fast enough). Also some times the information from USCIS will be hanging if you have extensions. But if you go out of country and come back with fresh I-94, the information is validated within 5 minutes electronically. DMV staff are more considerate in California.

To best of my knowledge, at least one parent must have US citizenship to get OCI ( the rules were different earlier - may be 3-4 years back ).

I have a question regarding an appeal I did a year ago for a rejected LC.
I have an approved LC and I-140 on an entry level position (EB3) with my company. after I got a promotion to a senior position that requires a masters degree but with a smilar job description but more senior and supervisory responsabilities with the same company. after promotion, I filed for a new LC (EB2) but it got rejected because DOL thinks it is the same position as the already approved LC. my company and I wrote a letter as an appeal on Sep 2006 within 30 days from rejection of LC to BALCA explaining that new position requires a masters degree and it is a senior position with more supervisory duties. as of today, almost a year later, we haven't heard anything regarding DOL (BALCA) decision on my appeal. is anybody in the same situation?? what should I do next?? also I read somewhere that DOl might revoke the already approved LC EB3 after I filed a second LC for EB2 with the same employer. can DOL revoke the first LC EB3 after I have an approved I-140?? please help. I am suprprised if IV is working towards abiltiy to file 485 and hard country limit...Just want to know how IV is working towards these 2 items...
