True. But that is true for every other bill. Just the fact that a bill is introduced means nothing. More details about CIR were discussed in our last conference call. We will have another conference call next month and you can join to hear CIR developments.

Involve your chapter leader and members in the process as well.We will guide you. But do not go to support this bill. Go to them asking for xxxxx that we will tell you once you have secured the appointment with the office. We will provide you with all the material and guidance. If we need to facilitate our provisions, this is what we need to do rather than sending any email or calls. They will have 0% effect at this time. Infact anyone sending emails from a junk email ID without revealing their name, phone number and home address in the email is wasting their energy and hurting themselves and others in this community. Lawmakers want to hear from their constituents and you need to be a real person. An office should be able to contact you and know you have a legitimate concern in their constituency. You should urge others not to undertake such misguided attempts of spamming lawmaker offices and follow a proper process instead. Ask people on other websites who are sending random emails to come to IV and join our advocacy effort. We will help them reach out to their lawmaker offices so that they can go and meet these offices to convey their pain and suffering themselves.

I have heard that USCIS is going to bring a law. Which states that if you have used AP you have to use your EAD. Or After using if you extend your H-1B than you have to go for a visa stamping. I am confuse how true is this rumor is?

To add to this point. This is AFTER the implosion of CIR on the Senate floor. CIR was supposed to be the reason issues around legal highly skilled immigration were deferred.
So, after deferral, implosion of CIR, we yet get a line clumping these two. It is almost like a nicotine addict trying to break the habit. Media can be so close minded.
All I can say is what IV has done to try to separate these two issues, is nothing short of herculean. Now atleast we are seeing some semblance of a separation. I think the Rally in DC was a highly significant moment in this regard. I am also pleasantly surprised to see as much attention given to the immigrant visa issue (ie green cards) as was to the rest of it. Previously highly skilled immigration was thought to be tantamount to H1b visas. The issue of permanent green cards was a footnote.
We have tried very hard to separate ourselves and not be a hostage of other issues. Now there is more awareness on the greencard issue being separate from H1B. There is also more awareness that Immigration problem is not just about Illegals. There are legal immigrants too in this country suffering.
Pls post letters to the editor. Last week we are able to get CNN correct their incorrect reporting of the rally due to effort from everyone on the forum.

Yes, I got a CD from USCIS with all my I-140. I requested for copy of I-140 approval notice corresponding to I-140 tracking number SRC.XXXXXXXXXXX. This is the same number I got from my employer for online tracking on USCIS website. It took over 4 months. I submitted this as soon as got approval on my I-140. If you dont have the tracking number, you may try to get your A# from employer or attorney. You can use the same reason that you are changing address or that you need it for visa stamping. I believe they ask for A# in visa interview form.

WithoutGCAmigo, no panic. there are processing dates which you should be worried about after you file EAD / AP etc.
To file it goes per visa bulletin. Hope you are upto date with that.

This whole spelling bee thing is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. By any standards, it is pure and simple torture to subject the kids to memorizing thousands of words and their stupid spellings. And what use is that? Have they never heard of something called SPELL-CHECK in Microsoft Word and other email services ?
Or are they afraid that their kid will go to a job interview and someone might ask them to spell the word that no one on the planet ever uses and is only present in the Oxford Dictionary.
Those who subject their kids to such a regimented, rigorous, scripted childhood are preparing a next generation of work-force that would only know how to follow the orders and accept directions.
85 % of the fortune 500 CEOs are not MBAs. And the other 15% that have an MBA, only 3 of the 15 have done MBA from an IVY LEAGUE school.
What that tells you is that too much education and scholarly childhood increases your job security, in that sense that you will never be unemployed, but it decreases the chances that you will be on the top or you will be a billionaire.
The biggest prize goes NOT TO people who can follow directions and know everything, but who can GIVE directions and get things done.
That a decent logic. Why do we have olympics and celebrate the winner of 100m dash? Don't we have cars/trains/planes that can go faster than 100m in 9.2 sec. Then why race to find out who runs faster than others. Its the same reason for Spelling Bee, I guess.

does this mean that i cannot get a 3 yr extension based on approved I-140 pp? My labor is not pending for 365 days and so I am solely depending on I-140 approval for a 3 yr extension. I am filing i-140 and i-485 concurrently before July 5...will this give me an EAD option even if 140 takes longer to get approved?
This only applies to pending or new 140s; if you have a approved 140 it does not affect you.
One could get a 3 year extension on the basis of a approved 140 only if the PD is not current; since the PD will be current starting July, you'll get only a 1 year extension.

I am pretty sure one way or the other they need to increase the EB visa number soon, else definetely USCIS will be in big trouble with thousands of applications sitting there for them, now having said that USCIS will find a way to get some bill which will have EB visa count increased passed in congress, so untill then cheer up and complete your filing.:) :) :)
Or they will find a way to make to make it more difficult to qualify...

seems funny that we are suddenly discussing God in this topic. But Any of the arguments presented here definitely do not prove that God does not exist.
As for praying. If merely praying would result in me getting results why should I even pray to get a GC, I would rather just pray that I never have to work and get all the needs of this life fulfilled without any effort. Why do I even care about a GC. And everyone would have started doing that.
The idea is never that of praying but of faith. Believers can give you millions of cases when their faith resulted in a favorable result. Almost all religions alo say that the first step towards having faith is to perform your duties as well as you can. Without this, there is no point of praying. Coming to religions, most also have ways of redemption but there is no way to redeem for acts in the future as you are expected to do your best.
You may or may not have faith in God, but logically it is difficult to argue one way or the other. There is a reason why even the greatest of all philosophers have not been able to come to a conclusion.
To each his own.

I don't think dates will go back again unless they drastically move the dates forward. The dates could remain stagnant for a long time though.
