No issues if you go back. That can happen to anybody. Nobody is safe in this country.

Make sure you pay off your mortgages if you do and cover all your liabilities.

There should be criminal action against loan defaulters, otherwise lessons won't be learnt.
And if you don't want to persecute these sons of bitches, give a portion of my tax money back, which I paid for last 9 frigging years, which has gone into these bailouts. I'm not even asking for the loss of revenue my company has endured due to our customers (high profile banks) slashing their IT expenditure. I cannot. Don't compensate me for the ripple effect but at least compensate me for the prospect of job losses me and thousands like me face this HISTORIC year of 2009, when a white president has entered the black house ..oops a black president has entered the white house.

(I'm not making anything up, everything I wrote about my company's customers is true).

Immigrants who don't pay off and run away should be extradited and put behind bars.

Yes, we can. Yes, we can change. Yes, we can. And folks, if you don't like my language, consider me insane and leave it at that but give my tax money back not in IOU and promissary notes but in checks.

Alright buddy, The only loan I've is few hundred dollars on my credit card which I pay every month though! Car is paid and no home! Sorry, no money from me to you! You have to find another person! I can buy you a cup of coffee though so that you can relax a bit!
But I do respect if any non GC holder go and buy a home.
I agree with your point about defaulters. But take your argument elsewhere.
In California, a musician who claimed 100K income/year was asked to stand in front of his home with his musical instrument and photographed. That photograph went into Washington Mutual's file as income proof. If you think, the housing crisis is because of defaulters, you are partially wrong! Prices went very high and people couldnt buy and that is the reason home prices went down. Since it went down, loans backed up by those very assets lost value. And people defaulted because what they owe was higher than the value of home!
You are really delusional if you think non GC home-owners are to be blamed for this mess!

You really need a good tax refund from the government! File your taxes soon!

God bless everyone still in this situation. My son turns 21 in October and we too were faced with this threat. Thankfully we got our I-485 submitted in June and he even received a letter from USCIS directly to him confirming he is now locked in under CSPA protections (which we already knew, but was very nice anyway).

Our attorney had pointed to the potential in the DREAM Act proposals that keep resurfacing . Although primarily drafted to assist illegal children brough here by their parents, the provisions would also apply to children brought here in H4 who aged out. All the other conditions would have to apply, but we had intended to convert our son this fall to F1 and then hope that Dream Act would pass sometime in the next 2 years to save him before he turned 25.

Another angle for those of you trying to seek protection to explore with legislators as there is very broad support for DREAM but it keeps getting caught up in comprehensive reform agenda.

Good luck to all of you still trapped in this dilema, I share your pain and sympathize with the stress this places on you and more improtantly on your kids.

The driver of the cab talked to me and said there was a man in a suit who forgot his blackberry in my car. And after having heard the hilarious (but obviously stressful to him) stories about him losing his bags and what not, I had no doubt in my mind who it was, so I pointed out to Aman and sure enough thats who it was. :D

Three unbelivable things had happen in DC.

    1. Aman forgot his cell phone in the Cab. This phone had all the important contact information. One passenger using the cab found it and he decided to return it to the owner of the cell phone. The passenger did not want to give his cell phone to the cab driver since there is no guarantee that the cab driver will return the cell phone to Aman. He therefore decided to find the passenger (Aman). The passenger asked the cab driver who was sitting in this cab before he took this cab. Where did he dropped the passenger (Aman).

The driver brought that passenger at the Washington Monument. The passenger asked the driver to find Aman. The driver found Aman and the cell phone was returned.

It's hard to get a good idea when so few people participate in the poll so I took the data available on and ran a few numbers.
    I queried for EB3-ROW I485 pending applications (~700 applications) and copied/pasted the data to a spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pivQbtGMEqKxBgHVI0_y4IQ

Here's a report with a PD distribution chart so you get a better idea on where we stand:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?t3r2tmt49we
You'll have to zoom in a little to view the labels more clearly. The data is sampled quarterly on the chart.

I uploaded the data to Google Docs in case you want to create different statistics.

At this point it may be better to understand how much do you need in next three months. Getting a committment for $20 contribution in April or June is of no use if we can't meet, let's say, 20% of our need in Jan.

I just can not believe that the above is not registering with most members.

Chintu25 was talking abt reading patterns on a trade which are also known as Technical Analysis. For those who don't like to read books (that includes me too!!)...here is a link to a series of youtube vidoes that explains different patterns which in turn help you predict a trend (uptrend or downtrend) on a stock that you like.
Hope this helps to those who are interested!!!

Sorry for ignorance. How is this list usefull? We will know who are the lucky ones to be greend. But how does it help?

That list is not going to get any of us GC. That will help provide visibility into what the numbers actually are. So far people kept thinking , once EB3 is past September 2001(big hump due to clinton amnesty), it should race forard because of not many filing ins 2001 down turn. Once the list is available we can atleast have some idea on how many are infact waiting and that would probably help most people have realistic estimate on when they may get their turn.
There were enough people who wanted that clarity and they contributed to get that. Still the FOIA request, if it goes through the regualr channel, it will be 2 years before USCIS even addresses it. CORE is trying an alternate approach to see if that data can be obtained ASAP.

It will help the same way the traffic alerts on radio help you get out of the jam.

    All,

My lawyer received the following RFE during premium process of my PERM I-140 application.
===Here is the text from original RFE========
Submit evidence that alien obtained a true 4 years bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, Math or Equivalent. Evidence of education must be in form of an official diploma, record/transcript showing all dates of attendance, area of concentration of study, and date of degree award, if any. The evidence submitted shows that the alien completed a three year Bachelor in Science Degree in India
    ===========

fyi: I have 3 years of B.Sc and 2 Years of Post Graduate Diploma in MIS from India.

Let me know if anyone here has received thia kind of RFE and what could be the best next step to overcome this RFE.

    Thanks,

    -Dhiraj

Under which category you applied I-140? EB2 or EB3?

Based on my exprience I would like to share my knowledge on Investing and Trading on how the market works.May help you better understand the market dynamics

1.) 99% of stocks have wild swings up or down during the Pre market or After Market where most of the retail investors do not have the previledge of buying/selling. Usually the swings are very fast (in a matter or minutes or seconds). This is the place where most of the money is made or lost. This usually happens based on news like Earnings, sector updates or analyst upgrades/downgrades.

2.) Always stick with Market Leaders in a sector while putting your money in trading/investing. This is because the risk of loss is minimal.

3.) Never touch penny stocks or stocks with very low $ value. Reason being this is where most of the manipulations happen. Stocks going up or down wildly based on no news. This is called a pump and dump strategy used by the Hedge funds. They are meant to deceive the retail investors into buying or selling stocks or for cleaning up the placed stop loss points.
Since Hedge funds have huge money power, they can play with the stocks using multiple strategies that make them money.

Here is a scenario.... Lets say a particular Hedge Fund want to make the price of a stock to go up/down to make profit,They are usually combined with Options. Lets say I have a Million dollar and I want to make 20% on a particular trade assuming a stock with current value of $50(Remember more money means, more buying power and more volume which dictates price action). I would short a stock with 750 K dollars and buy lots of put options on that stock with remaning 250k. Shorting usually means trader making a bet that the stock price is not worth the current price and is expecting it to buy at a lower price(called short covering).

When a stock is shorted with huge money(mind you hedge funds have of tons of money and they have stock value controlling power). The price of the stock they expect it to go down to lets say $40(be it clean up of most of the stop losses people have placed,or creating a scenario of fear. People panic and sell it and there by still reducing the price to lets say $35.

So here Hedge fund manipulators have made whooping $15 per contract(1 contract is 100 shares) multiplied by the number of put options bought.(Options do not cost as much as a stock and they make more money than a stock on a % base ranging from 100% to 10,000% )

Once the share price goes to $35 they cover the short position and go long on the stock buying it at $35. Later once the stock price goes back to $50 they made profit both ways while making the stock price go down and back to its original value $50.
When they do this, these are usually associated with Analyst downgrades/upgrades. When the news hits, they execute the trade, there by making it look real.

Also most of the Analysts are Hedge Fund buddies and are paid for these kind of favours and of get caught , they are penalized with penalty. Its nothing compared to what they actually make.

3.) Never trust Analysts blindly. Example Goldman Sacs had predicted the Oil price to go to $200 when the price was at $147 peak in mid 2008. Today the price is at $38. Its very rare to find unbaised Analysts. Every one out there on Wall Street are meant to make money by hook or cook..Always do your own DD(due deligence) based on sector trend, financial statements, p/e etc.

Analysts are just MBA graduates(not that I have a low opinion about the profession), they usually lack the technical knowledge about the Industry they deal with. Its better to trust company's management as they are obligated to release news to public based on SEC rules and regulations and they are less likely to deceive (and pls dont shoot me down about Satyam's taking example of Satyam's management)

4.) Never fall prey to recommendation of any stocks by media. Example Motley fool , market street etc. They pump news so frequently which makes your head spin, cau se they never stick to their words. What they say today will be exactly opposite of what they might say tomorrow.Today's sell could be tomorrows buy.

5.) Always use caution when trading on the day prior to earnings. Have a close look at how other companies performed in the same sector.
If a company announces excellent results and the stock price shoots, then related companies will follow the suit. Example, lets say Walmart had very good earnings, then Kmart or JC penny might shoot up based on Walmart news. And since not all companies announce the results on the same day, its better to see the chart before making a bet on the stock price before earnings release.

I still have tons and tons of info ...These are just the tip of ice berg scenarios.

    Will share more later.

If others can add to this list based on your experiences ,that would be great....

Money is there in the Market to be made which looks like its pretty easy from outside, but based on the above discussed constraints, do you really feel its easy ?????

There is no "silver bullet" strategy that can work always, be it technical or fundamental and you cannot make money on each and every trade. If it would have been the case, I would have simply built an automated system based on my strategy that will sound like a "Money Making machine"

Last but not the least, While Cintu25 is trying to make you money with his good intention, I'm trying to share my experience on how to better manage risks.....

    All moderators,

Please watch out anything that comes out of Senator Kennedy's office...
Some one in Kennedy's office is hell bent on getting rid of paragraph (5) in there....
paragraph (5) is the one that gave us the 'soft' country limits...

    Here is the law text....

    http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/8/usc_sec_08_00001152----000-.html

    TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part I > 1152

    (5) Rules for employment-based immigrants
    (A) Employment-based immigrants not subject to per country limitation if additional visas available
If the total number of visas available under paragraph (1), (2), (3), (4), or (5) of section 1153 (b) of this title for a calendar quarter exceeds the number of qualified immigrants who may otherwise be issued such visas, the visas made available under that paragraph shall be issued without regard to the numerical limitation under paragraph (2) of this subsection during the remainder of the calendar quarter.
    (B) Limiting fall across for certain countries subject to subsection (e) of this section
In the case of a foreign state or dependent area to which subsection (e) of this section applies, if the total number of visas issued under section 1153 (b) of this title exceeds the maximum number of visas that may be made available to immigrants of the state or area under section 1153 (b) of this title consistent with subsection (e) of this section (determined without regard to this paragraph), in applying subsection (e) of this section all visas shall be deemed to have been required for the classes of aliens specified in section 1153 (b) of this title.

If the 'soft quota' is gone...everything else is bullshit....

Every time I see something come out of Senator's office....They always strike para 5...

eastindia, you are correct. GCPerm sometime back was on a "flower campaign" mode and was asking all IV members to send flowers so that USCIS will approve his/her green card ASAP. now that, it has been approved, the user has switched to a citizenship campaign mode.

GCPerm, a piece of advice. When a person volunteers for a cause to help others, the person should never think of how the result benefits them. If you look at IV members who are advocating for clearing this green card backlogs, by volunteering for the cause, they are not looking at how it benefits them, but how they can pave a way for future applicants.

When it comes to citizenship it is more difficult as I have personally seen people who are willing to continue with green cards for more than 20 years than taking up US Citizenship because they are more emotionally connected to their birth countries.

Anyway, note if you are sure of the fact that you want this campaign to continue even after six years of you starting it(by then you can become a US Citizen), then you should be promoting this.

Example, Aman Kapoor who started IV, got his green card and still fighting to clear the green card backlog mess.

Hope you understand the point. Nobody wants a leader who won't be able to continue once their ulterior motives are attained.

Guys let it be selfishness... but ultimately if we win, it is a win for every one... I am living in this country for more than 11 years but still with an EAD status.... We are spending most of our life time as an ALIEN. Think yourself which is better...
